GEMSDO Operating Philosophy
GEMSDO is solely dedicated to reducing human suffering, promoting resilience, advocating for development and is non-political and non-sectarian in its mission.
GEMSDO dedicates itself to seeking and addressing the long-term developmental needs of its beneficiary’s even while in the emergency phase. The GEMSDO recognizes that disasters have the most negative impact on the lives of the poor and marginalized groups; yet disasters and especially the movement of the populations can also bring about unexpected, positive social change. This context can therefore serve as a window of opportunity for eradicating poverty, inequality and social injustice.

Our focus is on meeting beneficiary needs through practical interventions. We have a core team of professional staff who offer technical knowledge, insights and expertise in overall development programming. We ensure quality control, value for money and better results to both beneficiaries and donors.
